5. Teaching Practice

"Teaching Practice"

Prosedure of Teaching

When I was teaching at UIC Junior High School, grade 7 to be exact, there were a few procedures that I had to do in the classroom when the teaching and learning process began. First, the things to do after entering the classroom. I ask all students to stand up for prayer, and ask someone to lead the prayer. Once done I will greet them and invite them to sit back down. After that I will ask for their attendance today. The next step to make students enthusiastic is to provide energizers such as games, singing or dancing together.

Second, before discussing the material, I will conduct a review by asking students about the learning in the previous meeting. Here we can ascertain whether students still remember the previous material they have learned.

The next stage I start the lesson by providing motivation in the form of pictures or videos, and I ask some questions to make students guess the topic of the lesson and activate their knowledge of the topic. If the students have guessed today's lesson then I can proceed with conveying the learning objectives and guiding questions to the students. The guiding questions will be asked at the end of the discussion, therefore students need to pay attention to the material. This is so that students always remember the guiding questions during the discussion, because the guiding questions are the main points in the discussion.
In the middle of the discussion, I will ask students if they have understood or not such as "Have you understood?" "Is it clear?" "Do I understand?" and I also ask students if they have any questions or clarifications such as "Are there any questions or clarifications so far?" I also always appreciate students' answers by saying "Very good! Thank you" or "Well done!"

But every time they answer or explain or are active I reward them with a prize to increase their activeness during learning.

And also I teach them with movements in front of them and I lead and if some students are able to then they will teach their friends and discuss and build cooperation.

Next is the activity. At this stage I usually divide the group into 4. Each group has instructions for their respective activities. at this stage students are given 10 minutes to discuss and cooperate in practicing the movements after which they will display the results of their respective cooperation.

After the collaborative activity is complete, I deliver integration in the form of questions. This part serves so that students can relate to their religion and environment when learning the material. Next, I give a quiz related to the material. This quiz must be done individually. After that, I ask students to summarize the material they have learned. At the end of the class, I give them an assignment or they summarize the learning outcomes.

Finally, I ask students to stand up and pray, and I say my greetings.
